The 34th graduation class of the Lincoln Family Medicine Program were honored at the Embassy Suites Hotel the evening of Friday, June 24, 2011.
Dr. Harold Maurer, Chancellor of UNMC, Dr. Carolyn Cody, Vice President of Medical Affairs of BryanLGH Medical Center, and Dr. Al Linderman, LMEP President, presented the graduates with their Certificates. These physicians carry on a tradition of excellence and quality represented by alumni who have established successful medical practices.
The John F. Finegan Award was presented by Dr. Linderman to Kim Russel, President and Chief Executive Officer of BryanLGH Health System, Inc., in honor of Dr. John C. Finegan, the first Director of the Lincoln Family Medicine Program. This award recognizes those leaders who have provided extraordinary dedication and service to the Lincoln Medical Education Partnership, and specifically the Lincoln Family Medicine Program.
Graduate, Dr. Dan Schneider, presented Dr. Mike Schmidt with the Outstanding Volunteer Faculty Award. Dr. Schmidt is a very deserving recipient who has contributed his time, skill, and expertise in Pediatrics to train our residents.
An entertaining slide show was presented by two of the graduates, Dr. Rachel Schutte and Dr. Amber Sturzenegger.
The evening concluded with one of the graduates, Dr. Morgan Merrill, reflecting on his class’s three years in Lincoln.
