Residents are strongly encouraged to pursue “practice-based” research interests in family medicine. Whether creating an individual project, participating in an ongoing research program, a patient safety initiative or developing a case study, the residents are encouraged and supported in their efforts with proper research assistance. Lincoln Family Medicine Clinic has exclusively used electronic records since 2001. Because of this, we are able to track a vast amount of data for both research and quality of care indicators. Consultation is available in research design, data collection, statistical analysis and interpretation. Monthly journal clubs allow physicians an opportunity to keep abreast of the rapid changes in family medicine.
