Lincoln Family Medicine Program Curriculum

Our 3-year curriculum is designed to fulfill the ACGME requirements for Family Medicine while allowing the greatest possible flexibility in scheduling.  This allows residents closer to graduation the freedom to choose more elective rotations that best fit their career goals. 

Rotation Schedule

First Year (48 weeks, plus 4 weeks vacation)
Orientation - 2 weeks
Community Medicine –1 week
Emergency Medicine I- 4 weeks
ENT –2 weeks
Gynecology - 4 weeks
Hospital Medicine - 12 weeks
Obstetrics - 8 weeks
Office-based Medicine – 4 weeks
Outpatient Pediatrics - 3 weeks
Surgery - 8 weeks

Second Year (48 weeks, plus 4 weeks vacation)
Cardiology - 8 weeks
Ear, Nose and Throat -2 weeks
Emergency Medicine II - 4 weeks
Neonatology - 6 weeks
Neurology - 4 weeks
Orthopedics - 6 weeks
Inpatient Pediatrics - 6 weeks
Electives - 12 weeks
(At least 8 weeks of this year must be designated as adult inpatient medicine specialties)

Third Year (48 weeks, plus 4 weeks vacation)
Athletic Medicine - 2 weeks
Addiction Medicine 1 week
Chief Resident - 6 weeks
Critical Care - 4 weeks
Dermatology - 4 weeks
Geriatrics – 4 weeks
Ophthalmology - 2 weeks
Rural Rotation - 4 weeks -- required during the last half of the second year or first half of the third year.
Urology - 4 weeks
Electives - 17 weeks
 

Electives

Required rotations may be repeated or extended for additional 1-4 weeks as elective time.
(Other electives may be arranged on an individual basis)
