Meet Dr. Sean Flor
Meet Dr. Sean Flor from Omaha, NE. He attended Marquette University, best known for basketball and Dwayne Wade, in Milwaukee, WI where he received his undergraduate degree in Psychology. He earned his Medical Degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. He decided Lincoln’s residency program was where he’d get the best training, and the faculty seemed very welcoming. What Dr. Flor likes most about Lincoln Family Medicine is the variety and challenges it offers, treating patients across the age spectrum. He especially likes the areas of wellness, nutrition, and gastrointestinal issues.
Prior to medical school, Dr. Flor had an extensive career in the Air Force as a B-1B Weapon Systems Officer and Flight Instructor with three deployments to OEF/OIF, almost 1,200 combat flying hours, and just short of 2,000 total hours flying the mighty BONE, hailed as the busiest bomber in the fleet. Dr. Flor states, “I dreamed of doing two completely different things when I grew up . . . and I have been lucky enough to do both of them.” Running, golfing, soccer, hunting, enjoying time at his family’s ranch, and spending time with family and friends are activities he likes to do. He also enjoys watching TV shows like The Office, Scrubs, and The Big Bang Theory.
If he hadn’t become a physician, Dr. Flor says he would still be in the Air Force as a newly minted Lt. Colonel. He feels his greatest accomplishment so far has been to serve his country. Dr. Flor's role model was his mother who died of breast cancer in 2003. After residency, Dr. Flor would like to practice in a small Nebraska town where there is a shortage of physicians. His piece of advice he gives to his patients is, "Your health is way more in your own hands than you think it is so take care of your body and what you put in it."
