Sabrina Cerny, MD, ABFM, FAAFP
Dr. Sabrina Cerny is a native of Hannibal, Missouri joining our faculty in January of 2014. She graduated from The University of Iowa with a BA in French and attended the Virginia Commonwealth University medical school. Upon completing her family medicine residency at CHRISTUS Santa Rose Family Medicine Residency Program in San Antonia, Texas, Dr. Cerny then completed a faculty Development Fellowship at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Dr. Cerny completed training in medical acupuncture from Helms Medical Institute, UCLA/Berkley. She enjoys “all things French” (considers herself a Francophile) along with exercising, spending time with her husband and daughter and their dogs.
Kyle Haefele, MD, ABFP

Dr. Kyle Haefele is originally from Ulysses, KS. He graduated from Washburn University of Topeka with a BA in Psychology and attended the University of Oklahoma for medical school. He comes to us from Shenandoah, IA where he practiced for seven years. Dr. Haefele likes taking care of all ages with professional interests ranging from OB ultrasound to geriatrics. He also helps with the motivational interviewing curriculum. Kyle organizes the LFMP fantasy football league each fall. He enjoys playing golf, tennis and piano. Sometimes he enjoys running, but occasionally it isn’t as much fun as he hoped. Kyle enjoys travelling with his wife Tracy, and two kids Carey and Chandler.
Richard Gustafson, MD, ABFP
Dr. Rick Gustafson hails from Minnesota where he attended med school and had a rural practice for 14 years. His wife Sue is a retired attorney and now a full time grandmother in Lincoln. Gus is a struggling photographer, avid hunter, and is proud of his yellow lab, Jack. Gus and Susan enjoy traveling to the Caribbean for vacations and also medical missionary trips to the Dominican Republic in 2008 and Haiti in 2012, 2014, and 2015.
Alisa Nollendorfs, MD, ABFP
Faculty Physician | Director of Women's Health
Dr. Alisa Nollendorfs received her degree in Biochemistry from UNL. She then attended UNMC where she complete a dual M.D./Ph.D. program. Dr. Nollendorfs practiced in Lincoln for six years and has recently joined our faculty. Professional interest include women’s health and obstetrics. She enjoys reading, painting and spending time with her son, Lane.
Christine Keim, MD ABFM
Faculty Physician | Director of Medical Student Education and Outreach
Dr Christine Keim is a native of Grand Island, Nebraska. She received her Bachelor of Science degree at Hastings College in Hastings, Nebraska and then earned her medical degree at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. She completed her Family Medicine residency at Lincoln Medical Education Foundation in 2000 and immediately started a practice in Lincoln. She practiced family medicine for 14 years prior to joining the faculty in 2014. Dr Keim enjoys running, reading, and spending time with her husband and her two children. She has a particular passion for mission trips and tries to make time for them whenever possible.
Doug States, MD, ABFM
Dr. States comes to our program from North Platte, NE. He is a UNL graduate in Mechanical Engineering and UNMC graduate and trained at Clarkson College in Family Medicine. Dr. States has practiced in North Platte his entire career, the last 10 years in solo practice. Dr. States and his wife, Kayla, have been blessed to have raised three daughters and one son in North Platte. They are now empty nesters and the children live in Lincoln and Omaha. His interests and hobbies are numerous and eclectic. In no particular order, he enjoys hunting, fishing, carpentry, crafts, refurbishing and repurposing, welding, “barning"-tearing down barns for materials, bicycling, motorcycles, ATV riding, boating, skiing on snow and water, hiking, triathlons, computers and technology, inventing, creating, yard work, landscaping, cooking, beer making, charity, movies, audio books, reading, exercising, weight lifting, basketball, the huskers, racquetball (he represented UNL at national tournament in undergrad.), tennis, golf, swimming (his high school sport), hanging out with family and friends, and loves politics. Dr. States enjoys being a resource, a curator of helpful information and inspiration to the people in his life.
Tina Kearney, MD, ABFM
Faculty Physician | Clinic Director
Tina Kearney, MD, attended Washington University in St. Louis, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering, and received her MD with a distinction in Community Medicine from St. Louis University School of Medicine. Dr. Kearney completed her residency at the SLU Family Medicine Residency (in conjunction with Scott Air Force Base) in Belleville, Il. She served on the faculty there for 8 years prior to joining the LFMP faculty in the summer of 2016.
Tyne Muggy, MA, LMHP, PLADC
Tyne graduated with distinction from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a double major in Psychology and Sociology. She went on to attain a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Doane College of Lincoln. Professional interests include integrated primary care for patients across the lifespan. Tyne pursued additional training in peripartum mental health and has a special passion for work with obstetric patients. She enjoys the arts, eating good food, spending time in nature, relaxing with loved ones, and snuggling up with her feisty cat, Frida. Tyne likes to challenge herself by doing things outside her comfort zone (she ran a full marathon and learned to ride a motorcycle just to see if she could). She admires the words of legendary Renaissance artist Michelangelo who at the advanced age of 87 is believed to have uttered the words: “Ancora imparo. [I am still learning]”. Tyne is dedicated to continual growth as a clinician and an educator. She loves her work as behavioral health faculty where she is able to both increase awareness of mental health issues and encourage collaborative healthcare practices.
Jim Naeve, FACMPE
Business Manager/Coordinator of Practice Management Curriculum
Jim grew up in Ord, NE. Jim attended UNL prior to entering the United States Navy where he was introduced to healthcare as a Hospital Corpsman, serving on-board USS Enterprise CVN-65. Jim began his civilian healthcare career as a Medical Laboratory Technician and then moved on to administration in the hospital and medical group settings. Jim brings over thirty years of management experience to the program and is a Fellow in the American College of Medical Practice Executives. Jim and his wife Linda enjoy spending their free time with family that consists of three daughters and their families which include 9 grandchildren. Jim’s hobbies are; fishing, hunting, woodworking, watercolors and golf.
