Ben Martin, MD, ABFM

I’m looking forward to sharing the insights, lessons, and real-life experiences I’ve gained throughout my years in practice with the residents, helping them grow both professionally and personally as they continue building their own careers in medicine.
— Dr. Ben Martin, Faculty Physician

Dr. Ben Martin has been practicing family medicine for nearly 40 years, and his passion for caring for patients is matched only by his enthusiasm for teaching the next generation. As a faculty member at the Lincoln Family Medicine Residency Program, he values the opportunity to share his insights gathered from decades in practice, something he wholeheartedly embraces. One piece of advice he often shares with residents is simple but meaningful: plan for the future, but don’t forget to appreciate today.

Inspired by his father, Dr. Martin began his path in medicine at the University of Nebraska Omaha, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in science. He went on to receive his medical degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and is board certified in Family Medicine. He completed his residency at Siouxland Medical Education Foundation in Sioux City, Iowa, where he further developed the patient-centered approach that has guided his career.

Dr. Martin grew up in Pender, Nebraska, in a large, close-knit family (he’s also one of ten siblings, so family has always been at the center of it all). He and his wife have been married for 50 years and are parents to four children. He enjoys spending time on the golf course, working in the garden, building electronic projects, staying active, and, most of all, spending time with family and friends.
