Nadia Abraham, MD, MBA, ABP
“Some of our doctors have plans to practice in rural areas. I want to help them feel confident in their skills when it comes to taking care of children, which can be very different than caring for adults.”
Dr. Nadia Abraham’s path to pediatrics was influenced early on, as medicine runs deep in her family. With multiple aunts and uncles practicing as physicians across the world, she grew up inspired by their compassion and curiosity for caring for others. That legacy guided her to the University of Missouri–Kansas City where she earned both her Bachelor of Arts and her medical degree.
Drawn to pediatrics for lasting relationships and unique challenges, Dr. Abraham loves having the opportunity to figure out what’s going on with a patient who can’t quite tell you themselves. Her philosophy of care is refreshingly grounded: “There isn’t always a right or wrong way to do everything—it’s about finding what works best for each family.”
After working alongside residents for five years as a pediatric hospitalist, Dr. Abraham joined the Lincoln Family Medicine Residency Program faculty to return to what she missed most––teaching. She’s passionate about helping new doctors feel confident in caring for children, especially those who will go on to practice in rural communities.
Originally from McCook and Grand Island, Nebraska, Dr. Abraham now balances work and home life with her husband, a busy orthopedic surgeon, and their three children. Their household also includes an energetic crew of pets: dogs, chickens, fish, and even bees. She enjoys gardening, knitting, playing tennis, and caring for her plants and animals.
