Aly Schroder, DO
First-year Resident
Aly Schroder, DO, grew up in Holdrege, Nebraska, where she saw firsthand how physicians could make a meaningful impact—not just through medical skill, but by building trust and showing compassion. That stayed with her and helped to shape her path to medicine. She chose family medicine because she values connection and continuity. She enjoys helping patients stay healthy, manage chronic conditions, and celebrate life’s milestones, like pregnancy and growing families. What matters most to her is looking at all aspects of a patient’s wellbeing, helping them understand their health and feeling empowered in their care.
Dr. Schroder earned her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition Science and Humanities from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg. It was during her sub-internship at Lincoln Family Medicine Residency that Dr. Schroder immediately felt welcomed and valued. The supportive environment, strong teamwork, and genuine respect among faculty, residents, and students made it clear this was the right place for her to complete her residency.
Returning to Lincoln felt like a full-circle moment because it was where she first began to see herself as a future physician and leader. The Program's strong focus on broad-scope training, from surgical obstetrics to colonoscopies, and its commitment to preparing residents to serve in rural communities added to her reasons for coming back.
Dr. Schroder enjoys gardening, traveling, hiking, crocheting, and doing cross-stitch. She’s active in a local run club and is training for a half marathon in 2025, with her sights set on a full marathon by the end of her internship. She loves spending time with her two dogs––Lincoln, a Norwegian Elkhound, and Charlie, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
