Seth Ostdiek, MD

First-year Resident

Growing up with a father who faced chronic health issues and a kidney transplant, Seth Ostdiek, MD, spent plenty of time in doctors’ offices, which gave him an up-close look at the kind of compassionate care that ultimately inspired him to pursue medicine.

During his early medical education, Dr. Ostdiek was drawn to family medicine because of the variety of care, the long-term relationships with patients and entire families, and the fact that no two days are ever the same.

Dr. Ostdiek earned his Bachelor of Science in Psychobiology from the University of Nebraska-Kearney and went on to earn his Medical Degree from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine in Omaha. During his interview with the Lincoln Family Medicine Residency Program, he saw the strong relationships among the co-residents and faculty and knew it was the right place to grow as a physician.

Originally from Sidney, Nebraska, Dr. Ostdiek moved to Grand Island in middle school. He and his wife, Keona, who works at Arbor Day Foundation, are parents to their rescue dog, Moose. Outside of work, Dr. Ostdiek enjoys going to the movies, is a casual (but enthusiastic) golfer, and a loyal Husker sports watcher. He loves to cook, experience new restaurants, and walk his dog.
