First-year resident
Growing up, Luke Krajewski, MD, remembers how his family doctor did more than just provide medical care—he made a point to truly know his patients. He’d introduce them by saying things like, “Joe helps run the local baseball team,” or “Mary is a friend of my wife’s from church.” That personal touch left a lasting impression, showing him that being a great doctor isn’t just about diagnosing symptoms—it’s about seeing each patient as a whole person, with a story, a family, and a community.
Family medicine provides the unique opportunity to build life-long relationships with patients and that’s what drew Dr. Krajewski to this specialty. He is especially interested in rural practice. During a rural rotation in Nebraska City, he had the chance to care for patients in a wide range of settings—from the clinic to the ER to the hospital. He even delivered babies. For Dr. Krajewski, rural practice means not only being a healthcare provider, but also being a trusted community leader.
When it came time to choose a residency, Dr. Krajewski knew he wanted a program that felt like home, like the one at Lincoln Family Medicine Residency. From day one, he felt welcomed by the team and supported by a culture that values community involvement and full-scope family medicine. The program’s focus on rural training, coupled with a strong sense of camaraderie and support for residents with families, made the decision an easy one.
Originally from Omaha, he’s a Notre Dame grad who earned his medical degree from Creighton University. He enjoys golf, pickleball, and cheering on both Nebraska and Notre Dame football. He and his wife, Abbie, are parents to two daughters, and their dog Scout.
